Unfortunately, Tunmi doesn’t have a particularly good track record, as we can see from his failed online game projects. I’ve decided to really give this whole thing a fair chance, and I’m curious to see if he’ll manage to keep the game up and running longer this time than he has in the past. I think the biggest problem here is that he starts a project, releases it, and then there are bugs and requests that he’d love to address right away. That’s exactly what he does, and in the end, he gets overwhelmed and can’t keep up because he hardly takes any breaks and can’t distance himself from the expectations of some players. But let’s give GC a chance, guys. Personally, I really like the game and hope it sticks around for a long time. But at the same time, we have to be honest and admit that it’s too early to tell right now.

I agree, partly. Though again, how he tested his whole client with us and how he handeled feedback of us beta members was quite meh, to say the least.
Yesterday I was giving 1.2 a chance. And the whole thing was just like some I'm bored, let's do random bullshit cuz this is my bubble playground.
Playing very long sounds at quite high volumes, pitching them up and down, streaming him playing random piano keys through out all the server, if he can do this shit so well then he be rather getting to his bug problems.
Can't imagine this being up for long, either.
And do I need to even mention the half claude written, and if not that, 5 paragraph essay for each entry changelog that's just a nightmare to read through because stuff just isn't well seperated and it's like some post that's written so you have to read it all in 1 go to really understand what's going on?

oh yeah, fun fact, remember that time when the games Files got leaked early that one time? He was one of the people who decided to login early before the game was released and they was going to ban him so he wasn't defending the game at that point but now that they unban him I guess he is now.

You can get anything. I've extracted the SBYW sounds with the help of Claude, the question is what you do with them. The Last Shot sounds flew around before we even bought it and breaking NVGTs encryption is not a big deal, that's not on us to blame tbh. Copy/pasting assets you know don't belong to you into your project because you don't give a fuck though, a little different no?

Listen I'm essentially indifferent to the fate of gc and the audio-gaming scene in general but it's insane to me that this behavior has sincere defenders.

I don't think that justifies it anyhow? If I can extract 5 gb SBYW and 2 gb GC doesn't make me permitted to use these automatically.

no I do admit that what I did was fucked. not only did I log into a beta, I went on elten english and posted the link and said to have fun. so its my falt but i'm glad tunmi gave me a second chance. what was done shouldnt have been done at all.

Well, despite all the clutter, at least this seems to be somewhat usable for now. I do have to say messing around with this is kinda fun by now.
Still the way he handles things, can't imagine this is gonna be sustainable. Not to mention, feedback, suggestions, or annoying the server, but hey. Around morning time now this is definitly more chill.

To his credit, at least he finally moved his ass and made the updater less lazy, and had this onoffs command implemented.
But seriously I feel like /help is very much out of date at this point, so much that's not covered. At least kayla is working for good now, it seems.

Yes, I’m writing this at the crack of dawn. To be exact, 2:37 AM.
I figured I'd rather say this sooner than later. After nearly a week of the disasters this game has served up, there's no reason to keep sitting on it.
I'll be direct. I knew from the start this wasn’t going to go smoothly. I braced for impact. The second I lifted the shade on that temporary server lockdown, I knew something was going to break. That's exactly why I said, days before release, that there would be bugs, crashes, and glitches. Heck, I even made people tick a box on a Google form acknowledging it, for whatever that was worth. So when a thread showed up on AudioGames.net, I wasn't surprised. Warnings don't seem to mean much to this community.
My reputation's taken a hit, probably past the point of repair, and honestly, that’s fine. I guess I could say it's more amusing than it is hurtful. But it got me thinking. Am I being too soft? Am I about to repeat 2021, when I just shrugged it off and pretended everything was under control? Well, no. Back then, my ego was so inflated I didn't think bug fixes even mattered. This is different. This time I've realized I've spent years playing defense, the victim, the one who's in the right, instead of offense, and that's exactly why I’ve never had the strength to actually act.
That forum thread was the wake-up call, if you want to call it that. Something has to change.
So here's what's gonna happen, cuz constructive criticism, bug reports, and suggestions are always welcome, that's not what this is about. But if you're clearly here to shame Golden Crayon with nothing constructive to offer, you're just dumping negativity into the community, and I'm done pretending that's harmless. First offense gets a warning. Keep it up, and you're banned. No more infinite patience for people who show up just to take shots.
Now you're probably thinking, "damn, Tunmi, seriously?" Maybe. But I've realized this world doesn't reward people who just sit there absorbing hits. It rewards people who draw a line and say "no, this isn't acceptable."
If you're testing, reporting bugs, or giving me honest feedback, you have nothing to worry about. This is aimed squarely at the people who assumed I'd keep doing nothing, or play "I'm the target," the way I have for years.
I'm done lingering. Time to actually do something.
Will everyone be happy about it? No. But nobody's ever happy about every decision someone else makes. To the people who genuinely want this community to be better, I see you, and I appreciate you. But negativity for negativity's sake doesn’t get a seat at the table anymore.

At this point, though not super feature loaded, the game was quite stable in 2021, or 2023 lol.
Banning people for speaking up on behalf of his mess is mildly amusing at the least.
I remember cloners doing a similar thing, that when people pointed it out or had the source they got banned for it, though that's something else. Same amusing category, though.
Also creating a google form just for people to check a box that confirms things will break? I'm very much confused lol.

And yes, that's the worlds definition of freedom of speech. Not gonna go deep into politics, cuz irrelevant, but that's pretty much the same thing that lefties do. givvem the truth and you hurt their feelings and are hateful and humiliating. You may only tell people what they want, otherwise you're so judgmental, when clearly those people judge you for saying something, an opinion for instance, at all.
