So when I'm in school (in math anyway)they have different calculators, they have some orion TI30XS's and some other calculators that have a clock on it and had a 10 digit limit and another one without the clock that was made by the same brand that had a 8 digit limit... At 1 point I was even shown a TI84 (briefly.) You know the one, that thing that has the dectalk 6.1 synth... but that was a few years ago lol.

but which ones did you use or were familiar with?) Honestly I like the Texas iIstruments ones more because there is a delete key on it so that that way when you mess up you don't have to press clear every time. Or in that case of those basic calculators, all clear! xd

I have an electronic calculator also in home that talks in Polish. It has an 8 digit limit and a clock but I think the clock features aren't accessible for us because when I press something there it only make some beeps. I will send here how it talks.
This calculator has a small display on it so people can see it. The sound isn't broken likethis in my calculator, maybe that's something with microphone.

At school I got told to use something called Arithmico (arithmico.com) as a calculator. It is a software for PC you can use online or download in the About section for offline use. But then, this started lacking features that we needed which the others have in Geogebra (I'm not in a blind school), so I built my own one.

I never used calculators in school. The sighted folks could but there were no accessible ones for me.

Later, after graduation and when I could afford it, the first calculator I bought was made by a company called TSI. The voice was really crude.

Even later I bought one from Radio Shack and I still have it. I also bought one from a store in Shreveport that had blindness products. I think it's a panasonic and it's really slim. I still have it but I don't have batteries for either one in my possession. I had another off-brand one but it stopped working. I can't remember where I bought that thing.

And they allowed you to use it given their strict rules in exams? Anyway, I use Arithmico as well, but believe it's German-only.

@4 the clock is inaccessible because when you press the date key it doesn't show the date (it does on the screen but it'd be wrong anyway.) As for the time if you wanted to set it you would have to for example press 0629 and then go between AM and PM etc

In other words, the time and such can be set but it doesn't talk. That's partly accessible at least.

None of my calculators had clocks.

I like my slim one the best as it can be turned off and still retain its memory. It also has a power jack on it. There's no earphone jack but the power is a nice touch.

Well, they allowed me, but I had to give them the complete source code, don't know what they did with it. They probably gave it Gemini to check or something.

Well, for me, I just used a regular talking calculator, I've never used a ti 84 calculator.

@9 it does but it can only tell you the time, not the date xd

I use a talking calculator and my talking calculator has a clock on it that I could set.

LOL As if it isn't possible to alter the source code after handover and then use a local altered version.

Evidently they trusted him not to do that, and if he's trustworthy then so be it.
