Although it's truly not a detailed post, WinZapp definitely exists and works pretty well as an alternative client. I find it a bit slower when it comes to loading messages and chats, but Natan is right.
For anyone who is lazy to google, I'm going to paste the first result of the search query "WinZapp"

This sounds quite nice actually. Initially I was going to criticize it but the approach seems like what I would have done if I knew the app exposed a socket, and they seem to know what they are doing with their ai rather than wildly adding stuff. Dependabot, Claude settings and skills, that is already ahead of 95 % of blind Claude users. Also looking deeper I still seen clean approaches. Very nice and how i would have done it.

I think I saw this posted on the AGNet forum once but haven't seen where to get it since then. No idea what's been changed with it since the last time I looked at it. I did check it out briefly though and it looks pretty slick.

My wife was successful at logging in but I wasn't, sadly. I can't enter the code fast enough and the QR code is hopelessly out of my reach as it only stays for mere seconds before timing out. Oh well.

Weird. Works fine for me here. Used the QR code.

Is it me, or does the name Winzap sound more like a Windows customization/tweaking tool than a WhatsApp client? Lol

#11

It kinda does though

Well, it's WinZapp just to be clear, and yeah, it does sound like something to do with Windows instead of WhatsApp.

Here's some advice. Have your phone already on the code screen when you click continue on your computer.

None of that worked for me. I do have longer to enter in a code, but it's usually mixed letters and numbers and by the time I enter some of it the code changes so all is for nought.

Thanks for the advice though. I did think of that before trying to connect but oh well.

He means the QR Code.

#16

The QR code window doesn't stay up long enough for me as I said. There's no way I could find where it appears on the screen with the iPhone camera before it flies off into the ether.

It's true that messages is loading slowly and especially when there are a lot of them in a chat and not all of them are loaded, but somehow is loading gradually.

My wife had a strange problem. Some time back she had left a group and deleted a contact related to the group. Both the contact and the group she'd deleted came back when she ran WinZapp. That rather freaked her out so she's wondering if anyone else has experienced this or anything similar.

That is just WhatsApp's syncronisation being dumb as usual.

Strange that WinZapp would dig up stuff that has been deleted and what all. It wasn't on her phone till she started WinZapp.
