Even if the account is very old it'll still flag you for whatever the reason in certain countries/states where they past that requirement.

I at one point in 2023 or 24 had to confirm I was 18 or whatever on instagram by, you guessed it, providing an ID... because my stuff got hacked.

If we're going to be spreading information, please provide a source of some kind.
All that I survey, I could easily destroy. From time to time, it is important to remind these small creatures of the true extent of my power.

I will say, that on ios, you could also use a government ID in the UK, so for those in other country's you are kind of lucky, but that might change in the futer. and also, you could use another linux dstro that is older, and does not have those ristrictions. in my oppinion, the cumpany's that they use are not gonna ly but kind of shady, especially the cumpany that discord uses, I believe is persona, but i also believe that they have paused age verification for the time beeing. and i would also like to point out that, linux is local account based usialy, but that is a problem, i mean you could verify if you are connected to the internet, but then aggain, who wants to verify on a free operating system?

My account is from 2009, it still doesn't matter, still made me do it, only works on Twitter.
And they scream, the worst things in life come free to us.

youtube didn't make me, it asks me if i want too sometimes and i just dismiss it and it doesn't really bug me after that.

#53

now that were talking about Age verifications... The UK is going australia mode and banning under 16s. Need I say more on this matter? We all know how this works by now (and half the people that are for it are not even considering the risks here.)

At this point we need a hostile government takeover, anything's better than Trump, Starmer and God knows who else.

#55

online safety act all over again. Not many will follow it.

I saw something that said that Starmer decided to introduce this ban just as his youngest child, who was born 2010, was old enough to where it didn't apply.
The Trinidadian government is apparently planning on banning it for under 13s.

and you know what's bad? They are also banning youtube in the process. VPN's for the win then! What are some vpn services I can get when this roles out in other places?

i feel like a lot of this is happening because parents who don't put limits on their children are complaining about not knowing why others won't do it for them. keep in mind, my dad never put limits on me and i'm not saying i wish that he did, i'm just saying that some parents expect people of higher power to raise their children and it doesn't make sense to me. but that's just my opinion

#60

To put it simply, there's quite a large number of parents that can't parent, but that doesn't mean we need this level of intervention, this is ridiculous!
