Hopefully this will bring about some interesting conversation, not just oh Trump is terible because he is, or Trump will save the whole world, maga and end of story.
Could you say why you like or dislike, support or don't support Trump and or his politics and why?

Okay, I'll go first. I do not like him because he thinks: Oh, I think it's funny that I can put tariffs on everything in Canada and the U.s just because I can. And given that he thinks he can just run everything doesn't meen he can. Like what theck is your problem. I don't do palatix but that's the main problem I've had, maybe others can agree.

he's verry silly in my opinion. He seems to have no problem going back on his word to satisfy his own at times, personal wants.

He's an absolute sellout to the country and he should be impeached. I supported him during his campaign and the first few months of his presidency but at this point he's broken every promise he made on domestic issues in service of his doners and dragged us into 2 wars of choice.

in my personal opinion, all though my GF thinks differently for some reason, same with her family, I don't like trump, he has started 2 wars, and is a mega sell out to the US as Fernando has said, I mean at first I really didn't care about politics but trump has started 2 wars and is making america the bad guy pritty much because of his actions, how ever my GF and her family think differently about this and say that everyone's getting all this crap from social media and what not and I'm a little worried she'll brake up with me because of my political difference, the thing is, everyone says you have to be on the same political side or relationships won't work, but IDK bro, that's my opinion on trump and yeah.

I don't think she'll break up with you for your political stances. Me and my girlfriend don't agree on everything politically related, and that's fine. If she breaks up with you for that that's on her, not on you. You shouldn't try to change your political stanses for someone else, you think what you think, she thinks what she thinks.

There seem to be so many misunderstandings on politics and especially geopolitics and basically everyone seems to think they know better.
If people treat you like crap because of your views, then fuck them.

Unironicly believing that the backlash against Trump is entirely manufactured by social media and has no merit whatsoever is actually insane ngl. As if things like his war directly resulting in the deaths of 150+ elementary school girls were just a rumor or something.

If your girlfriend makes a big fuss over politics and shit like that, and she wants to break up with you for it, that's already a sign that you should break up with her. Political opinions don't matter in relationships. You just have your opinion, and that's that. You shouldn't have to change your opinion for another person.

Yeah, the guy is one of the most distasteful right wing politicians since 2016 tbh, maybe even before, but I haven't really dabbled in American politics so far back.

A lot of you don't seem to understand that political opinions are a reflection of someone's overall values which absolutely do matter and make the difference between successful and unsuccessful relationships. Not to say his gf would be justified in breaking up with him in this particular situation but reducing this stuff to inconsequential preferences is naive at best.

The values of a person don't have to fully reflect the politician they might support. You don't support a given politician 100%, unless you're a party lunatic.

Right, but the claim here is that political *opinions* don't matter.

We never said that political opinions don't matter. We just said that political opinions matter less in a relationship.

My wife is liberal and I'm conservative so we don't discuss politics.

Though I am kind of curious, to what extend your differing beliefs might affect a marriage?
