Hi there. I thought it about time to do an audio post, so why not here? By way of taking a very quick look at my visiting card, the information that my name is Gabriel can be very easily accessible to you and your friends. Yes, you and your friends. Actually, it was made to be pronounced Gabriel, but since I've been living in the States for four years and I have an American mother, I've kind of gotten used to being called Gabriel. It's actually kind of funny, though, because at times when I'm introducing myself in English, I'll get tongue-tied and have a hard time pronouncing my own name. But that's just another thing. I've gotten used to, I suppose. Funnily enough, according to some very old-order Arubian tradition that barely anyone practices anymore, you get your father's name first if you were a boy, and your mother's name first if you were a girl. So, like, at the very start of your name... Like, for example, my... My dad's name is Evo, and so my entire full name is Evo Gabriel Maduro, right? I over-spanglicized that for absolutely no reason, but, you know, I digress. So, on Western documents, that looks very weird. So, you get your dad's first name first, and then your name, and then your family name. It's, you know, it's a whole process. Um, I like my name. Um, yeah, I wouldn't trade it. It's a perfectly alright name, and I'm proud to be called what I'm called. Um... It's moderately common, so I've met other Gabriels, Gabadielas out there. Um... But, you know, it's, I guess, uncommon enough to know, like, who's being spoken to. Most of the time. Like, when someone says, Gabriel, I'll go, like, oh, yeah? You calling me? And generally speaking, they are. Um... Let's see, what else? I know that my name does have some biblical significance. Um... I'm just not, like, you know, obviously beyond, like, the angel Gabriel. Like, they're, you know, it meant something at some point. And I currently cannot remember. What it means. I knew at some point, but I remember not. Um... And according to my mom, I was born so premature that it was a miracle that I survived. And that's why she named me what she did. Okay! Um... Well, that's about it. I haven't done one of these in a while, so I don't have, like, a signing off thing to do. But there you go. My name.
