Jacob, from what we can see, you're not suited to be the administrator of this group. This isn't a personal attack on you as a person.
You haven't behaved inappropriately, and as far as I can tell, you've never broken the rules. You've made an effort to stay polite, and I truly see and appreciate that - it's something this discussion space often lacks. It's also clear that you believe in this project and genuinely want the best for it.
But you don't have the right skills to lead this group. Maybe if things weren't so tense, if this community weren't on the verge of complete collapse, it wouldn't be so obvious. But right now, we're dealing with a total disaster in both internal and external communication of your team.
We can see that there's no agreement or unity even among the moderators, and decisions are made impulsively and emotionally.
I can't say how well you performed as a moderator - that's something for daszekmdn to assess - but it's clear that you're simply not the right person to be an administrator.
And that's OK. No one is suited for everything, and no one can be certain they'd do a better job.
The question now is: what next? But I don't see an answer. We could organise another election, but that would just be yet another chapter in this endless charade.
Maybe we should instead observe independent groups and see if any of them gain enough popularity to prove they’re fit to become the official one?
