Can system access cause blue screens?

Hi,
I installed system access on my Win11 laptop because I thought it could be useful and I also wanted to test out the Sero client. After rebooting I got blue screen of death and had to put off the device manually. I've done my homework after that with NVDA. Now I again turned on the device and again got bluescreen. So what I did is uninstalling System access emmediately. Was it a mistake to try that out? Or is it even malicious? I don't thing the latter one cause I heard people use system access on Elten.

Not intentionally, i don't know how system access gets screen data. Some screenreaders like jaws inject gpu drivers to achive this and i could imagine that causing problems.

I heard that System Access is dead, no longer in development.

System Access is still being developed. As for System Access To Go, I heard that they are working on it.

How do you know that system access is still in development?
#6 radio729
A friend told me.
#7 GeorgeWu
Is it still usable now? I kind of wanted to try it.
#8 thespyde
System Access to Go is broken, which is the only way to try System Access free.

@5, I never used it, never used system access, just Sapi 5, Nvda, and jaws. Also, I got the blue screen of death but from something else which I will just send you a PM about it.

System Access is no longer in development. Sero still is, but SA was dropped some years ago. Its still possible to purchase the subscription inclouding it, though. And yes, it can cause bluescreens. Unlike nvda, it really injects deep into the system and also disables other Screenreaders, and honestly, its not that good. It was nice in the days of windows vista and 7 because it workt good and the price was reasonable compared to jaws. But novadays, its just not needed anymore because NVDA is just more modern and much better.

@10, that's good. It's probably the best that I don't get it on my new, fancey computer. I'll just stick to Sapi 5, nvda(maybe), Jaws, and narrator.

What is this Sapi5 everyone is talking about? Sapi5 is not a screenreader, it's just a speech API.
#13 Landon205
Yes, I understand that. But I also somewhat consider it a screen reader. But I know it's an api.
#14 GeorgeWu
I mean you could switch your screen reader to have a soppy voice but in general it's still an API.

@14, i AGree with you on that george. And Nvda does have a sapi 5 thing. I'm not talking about Nvda sapi, but there is a sympithasizer called Microsoft sapi 5 that could also be used for Nvda. I Believe it's the option after windows 1 core voices. But please correct me on that info, I could be wrong.
#16 thespyde
It isn't a synth. When you choose SAPI5 you'll get a list of SAPI5 voices you have installed.
#17 Landon205
@16, thanks. I have used that option before in Nvda. But I enjoy the windows 1 core voices too.
