hi guys
so, I just thought apple is IOS is actually very unpopular because IOS has only one phone running this software. While android has so many phones running it.
You dont have to agree with me but...

I don't see the point of that topic.
You compare 2 different systems, it's kinda weird IMO.
Android is an opened system and there are allot of softwares based on that.
Sorry if i said something wrong in that case.

LOL. Cope. This is why Apple is one of the most valuable companies in the world that brings in mre revenue than Samsung, which as a company manufactures anything from Fridges to ships to an insaurance company

I agree with those who think android is better than IOS. I've heard so many bad things about IOS, it's an extremely buggy OS. I mean, sure, android may have bugs but Google fixes these. Apple, on the other hand, doesn't really give a crap. and the behavior they've shown, just shows me that they're not worth using. I'm better off with android any day. If I'm gonna use IOS, I'd rather use it as a secondary. Otherwise, don't even bother giving me an IPhone. But the behavior Apple has shown me, they're not gonna see me on their services any time soon. And I've been using android for many years now and I can happily say it's the easiest to use. I mean sure Siri is getting chat GPT, but I can still use Google just fine, so don't try to get me to use something else just because I can use another just fine. I think that people should see the potential of android and see that it is accessible, and we've gotten to a point where any blind person can go and pick up a Google Pixel and turn on TalkBack just fine. Sure, it's totally different shortcuts to use, but it's usable. I don't know why some people think that IOS is the superior OS and that android is nothing compared to IOS. I mean sure, IOS has it's use cases, but android is usable. Come on! It's not 2010, where IOS was pretty much the only thing you can use! It's 2024!

"Extremely buggy"?

Yeah, from my experience Android is more buggy than IOS, yeah IOS 15 was probably the worst, and 16 was a close second on that list, but 17 is pretty good, Apple are better at fixing shit that's broken or causing serious issues, and 18 so far is much better than what 17 was when that was in beta this time last year.
Android on the other hand, well, let's just say, TalkBack has this stupid issue where when you swipe the screen with 1 finger, there's sometimes an annoying delay as it has to physically scroll the page and then try and remember what it is you need highlighting, and sometimes it goes to the wrong thing or scrolls and does bugger all, requiring yet an extra swipe. Voiceover has a better way of managing this sort of stuff, which makes the experience much smoother.
I could go on and on but don't want to have to do that as I think most of us have experienced Android's shortcomings. As for CSR, that's a whole other can of worms that again, would take a lot of effort to recall and write down on here, as when I used it a couple of years back, it was on a Samsung and it was not like any other experience, everything felt... Off. That's the simplest way of describing such an experience as what I got with CSR.
in conclusion, IOS is the more smoother experience, which is why we all choose iPhones, we can't be doing with the headaches Android brings as a primary mobile OS.

Have a good day. Sincerely, Alex Chapman, the new administrator for the Elten English Community.

Try to open discord on the new beta. I hope your phone also won't talk and is going to freeze until a sighted person helps.
Try to use any vocalizer voice other than english and I hope you'll also find bugs from 8 years ago which they still didn't correct. Not surprising though. Hello pause480
Try to at least use the official client of Telegram and see the beautiful accessibility. Blindy apps don't count, as they are waaaay behind in terms of development.
Try to use RH voice. Didn't succeed? Oh shit.
For my EU fellows, AI stuff isn't going to be available in apple systems yet for a looong while.
Well and try to go away for a day, take your phone with you, fully charged. I hope at least 2% will remain at 3 o'clock. Try to go home with that, using the non-existing osmand. Or after the 3000 usd iPhone, buy bone conducting headphones as well so you can use the 40 dollar blind square, or voice vista, which is actually free... Clap clap.

@11, my iPhone has lasted me whole day when I leave the house. I don't use my phone that much when I'm out and about. A few years ago when my family took a vacation in a part of the country we've never been, my iPhone got us around all day with Apple maps just fine, and I had sufficient battery life when we got back to the house. And that's an iPhone 7+. The battery has only gotten better on newer devices.
About the Discord thing, uh.. Yeah.. it's *a BETA*. You chose to upgrade to unstable software, so it's on you to accept whatever bugs might exist. Complain about main distributions of the OS, not preproduction software. I do hear you about the Vocaliser things though, a lot of the voices are quite peculiar, and I could only imagine it to be worse with other languages. I don't live in the EU, and I don't bother spending that much money for bone conducting headphones and all that jazz, or at least, not yet, anyways.
@10, well said. TB works, but it's just clunky. It feels very unpolished in a lot of ways, and I refuse to download CSR for personal reasons. It might work, and others may like it, and all the power to them. But I've made that choice, and that's going to influence my outlook on Droid.
To be clear, IOS/Apple does have quite a few shortcomings, noteably the issues with it being a walled Garden, but to be brutally honest.. I don't.. Care.. My phone is for making calls, browsing Twitter and Tik-Tok, using Apple Maps, Be My AI and taking photos. I don't need ultracustomisation. Again, I understand some people may value that, but I just don't. And as for price, sure iPhones are for the most part more expensive over phones that are in a lower weight class, but if you compare it to other high-end phones, it's pretty competetive. I mean, the 15 Line is cheaper priced than the 24 Samsung S line. Ultimately to each their own, and posts like the OP, and post 8 just demonstrate that a lot of arguments against IOS are either based on nothing, outdated info, myths, misinfo, or personal bias.

I had 4 phones with android, since june I have iphone 15 pro, and I am switching on android again. It's so annoying when you don't have regular expressions and you read in 2 languages. When someone wnts to use espeak ng, it works slowly, pauses are too big, you can solve this problem, but later other voices read too slowly everything.
I thought that spell checking works well on braille keyoard, unfortunately not.
Voice vista works very well, that's pity it isn't on android.
Battery works also very well on ios, I loose about 70% per day when I use quite often my iphone.
Of course on android we have also bugs, like problems with braille keyboards on CSR, but after 2 months, at least for me, ios is a lot of more annoying, for example I can't set 1-finger gestures.
Ah, and siri works great as well.
I found more annying bugs, but that's enough :D

Agree on the battery one. But the fuck has apple to do with telegram? Telegram is responsible for their accessebility, that has no fucking thing to do with APPLE.

ye, ios can't fix telegram or messenger, but later I have to try to use these apps and I don't care if they cant fix it or not, if any app doesn't work on android, I also can't say that samsung or google should fix this app, but if it doesn't work, maybe I will think about ios.
