eurofly 3
Wróć do Games#81 Musicant
Sorry, i was not in the hangar. So stupid of me. Sorry for the noise again.
#82 Jacobww3
That's alright. No problem at all.

I've been meaning to try this game again. How is the docs? When I tried it the docs were very limited and flat out gave false info. Mind you this was like 3 or 4 years ago, so obviously it would've have changed with the launch of Eurofly III.
#84 ArcticMoon
As far as I know there's no documentation, I mean, at all. There are very long videos to watch but that's all.
#85 Musicant
Confirm that there is no documentation at all and there are still some bugs which lead to an application crash. They still call it a public beta but i would say that it is alpha or pre-beta. Anyway, it is good that anyone who wants may play around with it.
For those who want to try it i would say the following. If you played eurofly2 not so long time ago and remember it very well you will find some surprises in eurofly3 which you would probably be able to work out quick enough. Anyway you will have to listen at least to the latest part of tutorial and refer to the other parts when necesarry. If you remember eurofly2 not very well you better to restore your skills there before trying the new one. If you never played any version of eurofly you should either listen to these many hours of tutorials completely or start from eurofly2.

eurofly3 is the best
#87 musicman5464
The best is subjective. Personally, I think that without documentation (and no, youtube videos don't count) there is much to be done in order to get eurofly 3 up to what it could become. Sure there's the interactive help, but that's still not a substitute for a well-written manual.
#88 Jacobww3
That's true. I was very surprised that there is no document to help you.
#89 fire
yeah. but other then that is good
#90 musicman5464
With documentation, i'd probably be playing it since I'd have a better grasp on mechanics. But it doesn't exist and the last time I tried to get help landing in basic training, I never got a clear explanation of exactly how to do it, much less how I was screwing up and how to fix my errors. So there's that too. Unless I know how to fix what I'm breaking, odds are I'm just gonna be stuck, and therefore discouraged from playing the thing in the first place.

@musicman5464, There are many hours of audio tutorial made like youtube videos. If you're ready to listen to them you might give it a try.
#92 musicman5464
In my opinion, while audio tutorials are useful in some circumstances, they don't count for much as far as documentation goes. And no, I don't have hours available to listen to such things. I'd rather look something up in a well-written manual first, then if I still need an audio walkthrough, I can use that to supplement what I've learned from the manual. But audio tutorials should never, ever be the only way of obtaining information, particularly for a program like this.

I 100 percent agree with you. I never heard of anything not having a written manual.

I don't think there's anyone who would meet everyone's expectations... EF2, not enough audio tutorials! EF3, not enough documentation!
So maybe let decide what you want at all...
#95 Jacobww3
Good point. A very good point
#96 musicman5464
True. Though it's still good policy to have writtten documentation available in any case. For some folks it's easier to work with audio tutorials. For others, the written word works. In this case I prefer the written word. I'd imagine that it's a lot less time-consuming to skim read a document than it is to seek through a media file you've never encountered before.
#97 Sir-Charlie
@94, nah man. Every good piece of software has a written manual of some kind. Audio content is an extra, not the main thing.
#98 Musicant
@musicman5464, agree with you but you told that there are not youtube videos at all without pointing that you need just walkthroughs. So i decided that you don't know about audio tutorials and pointed you out to those.
#99 musicman5464
@Musicant I seem to recall saying that youtube videos don't count for documentation, not that they didn't exist. Please see post 87 in this thread. Thank you.
