redistributing paid audio games (taxes and other stuff you need to need)
Wróć do Others#1 Jonathan Konto zarchiwizowane
Hello everyone, I took a bit time now to do a research with my parents in the web about redistributing paid online games, since thats one of my plans in the future.
Now one question wich came to my mind is taxes:
I am not sure how the laws for this are outlined, especialy cause I life in germany and most online game devs are in america, but for example games like STW, SBYW, manamon, etc have paid systems and I wondered, do those devs actually pay taxes?
Cause as far as I know, its at least an important thing you need to check out, and know what you're doing.
So I wondered now, if I make a paid system for my new game, in wich you have to purchase a key, simular to vg storm stuff, what do I need to care about.
I mean with rights and the stuff, is there anyone who knows maybe a bit more about this taxes stuff?
Would be awesome if you could share your experience, if you know anything about the mentioned audio games, or any other useful things.
thanks and regards

Oh, the topic should be named "you need to know", I wasn't concentrated!

¸those people avoid taxes I believe, nasty nasty people.

nasty christmas elph? well I don't know at all, wouldn't saythat so.
#5 rudolf
huh? how do you come at that.
#6 Urh2006
sam needs to get taxed immediately.
#7 techboy
Dude I know. Business tax is like, uh uh well income tax is 20% in america. He's gonna be so sad when he has to pay those.

let's run a petition if audio game creators need to be taxed, I mean they need to be it's just that they're not obeying the rules.

yes.

bro what the fuck? If small audio game creators like heaven-games for example would need to be taxed that would be the biggest non sense ever! Of course people like Sam should, although you would have to say that would push the price higher. But a petition, na this is kinda pointless and not what I have expected.

I mean literally we want to sell our game for a very small price so it'd be pointless indeed.

well, IMO most of blind gamemakers doesn't even have a coppy right, but there like showing there pride, and they arn't paying taxes.

Yea, I know that all, but my question is really, what sais the law, cause germany is bitching about everything more than the USA where they don't care obvioursly, so I wondered. Like, is just noone caring or is it legal?

What makes you special to avoid taxes? You do know that in most places even if something sells for 1 dollar it's still taxed? But I think the more important question is how does Mr. Strakl know that Sam doesn't pay taxes. I had no idea you had access to his financial records. Iirc, when he started he didn't but he does now. But I'm not sure, IDK and I don't pretend to.

OT, but are you now planing to make hl totally paid or are just continuing thinking of the paid system? also to the restributing: I personally would DK where to make advertisiments if cloning is in the most forums and groups not allowed. okay sorry for this offtopic but it kinda had to do with that.
#16 marchoffmann
Rudolf, I would just kindly ask you to shut up if you actually don't know about what we're talking, if hl at all, and like you said. Hl has nothing to do in here and we got the rights we needed. Period.
#17 rudolf
it was just a friendly formated question out of interest so come down mr. muffin. also even if you have the rights that doesn't mean that it is no longer a clone, although I know now, because our friendly marc said in a also friendly way, that we are not talking over this game.

please read the topic name, then question yourself, if you don't come to the point that your post has absolutely, really nothing to do with taxes or my mentioned questions, then, why?
#19 marchoffmann
Lololol! Now again that's amusing. Then again, what you bring in here and what's a clone and not is fairly interesting me thinks.

WTF? Seems like a bit of an overreaction, doesn't it at 16 and 18? Perhaps it's the wrong place to ask but it's still a valid question?
