A personal letter for everyone from the new, potential administrator

Hello everyone!

As you may know, the last period has been very difficult for the Elten English community. For almost a month there were no administrators or moderators to keep things in order, because the developer, Pajper was planning something new. I supported him all the way, but unfortunately all the existing moderators lost their positions for this period, and we were left with a sense of hopelessness.
I can't say that the previous team worked well. The main thing that was lacking was communication between moderators and administrators; and the fact that what worked well in the Polish community was either not integrated into the English community or simply failed to be integrated.
When Pajper announced that he would set up a vote to decide who the new administrator should be, I started to have doubts about whether this was the right thing to do. And what I feared would happen did happen. Users started insulting and hurting each other, it turned personal, and it turned into a toxic debate of who has the most personal conflicts with whom. That's what I call a playground. When you're a little kid, it's perfectly acceptable behaviour, nobody says a word if you're going to make people look bad in this way, in this style. But we are adults and I think that at this age it is absolutely not allowed.
Even then, when it was possible to vote, many people did not tolerate the fact that there was a candidate among them who had a slightly different view, a slightly different approach. She had the plans, the ideas and even a little bit of language skills to take things from the Polish community that were already working well there.
Many people demanded public debate, which I am absolutely fine with, except when I have to debate with people who have no arguments. No, "XY is an idiot" is not an argument.
That's how the vote ended. We all know who it was that more than half the community trusted to bring about the change we have been waiting for, for so long. Of course, most members preferred to shout, following the majority is louder principle, thinking that it would be better that way; that anything would change.
As a result, one user created an informal poll, calling it a petition, asking whether the poll should be redone.
A petition is when you collect signatures to achieve something. A petition is never done anonymously, it's where everyone, always sees everyone else's signatures, and it usually takes place on a dedicated page. If you remember, there was a specific petition for Hearthstone back in the day, and it was well organised. Of course, there was the possibility of cheating there too, but it was not a google questionnaire that the organiser of the petition asked people for their opinions.
However, we can perhaps let this issue go, because the questionnaire itself is not official, the developer of Elten has not agreed to it and has not declared the results so far to be true. The results are only statistics until Pajper says that we should indeed act accordingly.
In the meantime, I think I have seen it all. I, Nikolett T., no longer wish to participate in the moderation, administration or assistance of Elten. I'm more than sad to see, that the program does not currently have enough weapons against those who make more accounts and can continue their disgusting behaviour with each new one. I also know that Elten has no protection against flooding and spam, you cannot ban someone so that they cannot come back again. It's sad that it's so easy to make a new account and continue what you started, reminiscent of Redspot's system.
What do I suggest?
A new user should not be allowed to post in the forum, create a topic, create a group, and join public conferences for 24 hours. Once again, this applies to public forums and conferences, feel free to join private groups and private conferences.
This was one of the proposals I would have submitted to the developer as administrator of the English community.
However, that will no longer be the case. I'm sad to inform everyone who supported me that here and now, I am letting go of Elten's hand as a potential administrator.
In a community where Christian people are free to make jokes and deliberately mention "dead mothers" of users, where this kind of behaviour is acceptable, I have no place.
They say you have to know when and where to stop. My time is now.
Thank you to the 55% who believed in me, and perhaps still believe in me today. Thank you to those who stood by me until the last minute and wanted to join me in a moderator's role. Somehow I will repay you all for all your support, but for now I must say goodbye.
It will be sad to see Elten taken over by people who have no experience of administrating and who have been banned from everywhere but here. It will also be terrible to see potentially administrators who have been warned before, who have broken the rules, taking over.
It is with a big, heavy sigh that I publish this post. I am not sad, in fact I am very grateful to those who have stood by me to this day. But I feel that, with my already difficult life, I am not able to deal with people who are acting out their behavioural problems here, because here all the opportunities are there.
Unfortunately, until Elten has a proper system in place for administrators to take action against such people, I am not willing to deal with someone who is too bored with school and comes here to act out.
I thank you all for everything.

Niki

Also, about this account thing. @pajper, I would suggest maybe an e-mail verivication at the start. As far as I know the registration process, you ddo have to enter an e-mail if you loose your password, but its not controllable if this is a valued e-mail. I know, friendly and all knowing people like, miss smily face will now say, "in the name of other users with private tabs, vpns, dinamic IP addresses. Eh sorry, I already think like a strange programmer." :-) but if we think with the brain of a spammer kid you think everyone is, because I don't think a programmer who is good enough to do that would have time for your playground, then noone wants to go trough the process of creating a new e-mail. I know, there would be those 10-min e-mails, but not everyone knows them + that many are not even using vpn so there would be the really first point. setting up a proper, maybe automatic ban system and in the name of all those users, a feedback system where you can fastly speak with devs about bugs/results. not a, we just do that for sponsors or one time at a year thing. And I thought you make money with those premium abos etc. Where is it going? I just ask that because I wonder and that was never clear to me. Is it floating in this organication this all is supported in, because then I could understand, but else you could actually do this. I honestly think that elten is bby many of ya not taken as that what it is/could be at least for some serious thinking people out there.

I don't blame the original poster for this, it is completely understandable.

Thank you for understanding, Louisa. It was a difficult decision for me as well, but I had to save my personal life and health from all of this.

If she leave, this community will die completely.
This news breaking my forum heart...
I hoped for a normal English community with all tidiet posts and topics without any spam and insults etc.
And if the vote will berecreated i would like to join to the elctions and show my programm but i think that i'm don't have as good health to take on such a big responsibility.

I think that despite some things she has great potential. But if I agree on one thing, it's that this is too much for anyone. It is hard to handle these situations in such a short time.

Well now the vote was for nothing either way

@8
Yea but who cares? I mean if she holds her word, would be nothing new if not but if, this not gets just deleted or something then thanks, cool. We arrived what we wanted, didn't we?

Well if you say it that way she could call you out for personal attacking or going against her, :D But I'd say it's not a bad outcome indeed.

Jesus Christ Jonathan. I understand you’re glad to see her go but you could have expressed it with a little more class than that. There are a few issues that I should probably address in post 1 but it's 1AM and I can't be bothered. Wasted energy anyways. That aside, I do wish you best of luck in your private life, genuinely I do. I think this was the best move both for you and the community at large.

Well, all I can say is: What a sad outcome and what a terrible lack of appreciation! Just think, all the work an effort that Pajper put in to build this program, not even to talk about the financial aspect. The effort he made to try to re-organize the English community, all in vain because of some kids controlling this whole English community. What a shame for the other language communities!
This being the case, it's time to say goodbye to this program, since some kids would like to run it from now on! Sad conclusion, right? If I would stand in Pajper his shoes and was it not because of the other language communities, that would be the time for me to pull the pluck on this program!

lol? Who are those: "kids"? Because I am controling nothing of this, I'm just letting out my feelings and thoughts. Sorry if that is, not allowed or something.
Also I wonder why everyone is connecting every word you say to pajper. I apriciate pajpers work, its all about not having arctic moon as a moderator who, destroys this all.

Also, look to the germans, there it isn't that better anymore.
I don't know what exactly you mean atm, but if we just see what he did to reorganice, then I can say that setting up a poll is not difficult. A spam filter should be standart don't you think?
Again no offence to pajper, I much apriciate his work, but still we see how much he isn't really caring in the end by adding AI generated aplication or off topic users because he didn't even seem, to read the aplications, or if, then not bevore setting up the poll.

It would have been a good idea to recreate this community from the start and build it again. But this way I'm afraid I can't do it. You could save it all as a candidate, and I really hope you'll win if there will be another election. If it doesn't happen, I'm going to suggest you to Pajper.
On the other hand, I saw your private messages as well, and as soon as I'm free from university today, I'm going to answer you. :)

@14, I think that's a touch bit hyperbolic, friend.
