Connecting a sustain pedal to a MIDI keyboard

Hello everyone!
I've got a sustain pedal recently, which I'd like to use with my Komplete Kontrol M32 midi keyboard. I have read a lot on the subject and I have come to the conclusion that the pedal I bought is universal and compatible with all MIDI keyboards. However, as soon as I load a VSTI instrument into Reaper, the pedal doesn't work, as if the MIDI keyboard doesn't detect that it's connected to it.
I've disconnected the keyboard, rebooted it several times, reopened the komplete kontrol software as well, but it seems to be impossible to set this up on my own without working eyes.
Any ideas?

I hear about that universal sustain pedals for the first time. Thaught they are individual.

To be honest I don't really get what you mean. Universal means these sustain pedals can be used for any brands of midi keyboards.

As we discovered, the only thing that was needed is more raw power applied to this shitty pedal connector :D
And, if seriously, there only three connectors for pedals exist in the world: rs, ts and trs.
As some website says, trs is universal and can detect really anything and rs and ts are similar but very rarely can have some problems with compatibility.

I have TRS. Do you know what I don't have though? Power in hands. :D

You have power. you are just too wise to use this power without any caution :D

some things in complete control do not have sustain pedal capabilities. Try a pino library, as i am not sure what else to recommend as i don't have a komplete kontrol

I've already solved the problem :)
