I am here again to tell that english community rules do not tell us anything about signatures or political offense in signatures and posts too.
Here we see lots of technical stuff about audio quality and file sizes but we see nothing about allowed and disallowed topics, forms or etc.

Europe has clear political position. And i personally don't like hypocrisy.
-- (cyrmax):
Btw may it be just my political position as yours? As arctic moon said this platform has a clear political position and so why i cannot declare my own in my own signature.

I just want rules to work truely.
In russian language we say something like "Everybody is equal but some people are more equal than others".
This exactly shows what is happening.
I do not know your country, but i guess for you it is whatever who stands for ukraine or Russia.
But for me to see pro-ukrainian words in admin's signature is harmful and annoying.
So i have set up the similar thing to support my country which i truely love.

About such things being harmful or not... Hm. It's a slippery slope to be honest.
You say it's offensive when someone goes like stand with Ukraine, but on the other hand, anyone could say they decoded your signature and stand with Russia or fuck Zelenski offends a particular person, or a group of people. However, anyone can hide signatures forever, and as far as I know, even without paying a dollar. That's why I wouldn't say Pajper should delete his one, if, the case wouldn't be that he's the main developer, and currently, the main administrator of the english community as well.
p.s.: Stand with Hungary in these hard times! To show your support to my precious country, pronounce our longest word of magic and might!

In I.13 we see a term defining who is considered a spammer.
13. "Spammer" is a person who posts content on the Portal that is inappropriate to the discussions, duplicates, harms the Portal or in any way offends users of the Portal, their beliefs, religion and views, as well as any national, religious or ethnic groups.
So I can say that pajper's "stand with ukraine" offends me too, it hurts me in national form. Does it mean that pajper should delete his signature?
I guess he will never do such a stuff.
Also we have people here who stands for ukraine, wants to free palestine or etc etc.
Will they be punished for that?
It really really harms me.
The second thing that makes the rules inefficient is the III.4 section telling us about the following:
4. The membership in the Portal Administration automatically expires as a result of:
A. Death of the user or his loss of ability to continue performing the function entrusted to him,
B. Unannounced user inactivity for more than 30 days, except in justified random cases,
C. Global user banning.
Sometimes we do not see pajper for more than 30 days. Also he sometimes does not respond to other admins or moderators more than for 30 days.
So?.. should pajper be removed from the portal admins?
Of course no because he developed the whole stuff here. But see, rules are not working.
And finaly, i didn't find any other rules regarding that my signature was not allowed.
It was not a malware, it was not a copyrighted thing, it was not offensive against one of the portal users or admins (of course if Zelensky is not an admin or user here on Elten).
Oh and btw, i didn't find anything about signatures at all.
We do not see what exactly is a post on the forum, is signature included in post content?
I guess no, because if i change my signature it changes everywhere, even in older posts.
So, no rules violation.
Of course, we have the magic rule which allows administrators to act as they want and consider right. But this is what i say: if admins think that ukraine is better than Russia, they would ban anyone who is offensive against ukraine and will hail everyone who stands for ukraine.
Also i will read the english community rules to find more and get back.

Cyrmax:
Let's be honest. You all know that we are in relations. And i cannot even imagine that one of you see how your the best friend or the person you love violates rules and you immediately run to pajper and tell him everything.
I can imagine, did it some times. Because in my life I am guided by the principle of no double standards. If someone does something illegal, he should be punished for it whether he is my friend, my mother or the president of my country. It not depends on who is who for me, rules is rules and must be followed who ever you are for someone.
If I brought it to her attention and it didn't work I would do it.
If it was the closest person to me that I love I would do it all the more to stop her and unlearn her from doing stupid things, because I would care about her.

Unfortunately Elten always wants money, do not forget about it.
Want to use markdown in posts - pay.
Want to hide annoying signatures - pay.
Want audio transcription - pay.
Want more than one personal blog - pay again.

How is it a slippery slope? Stand with Ukraine is showing support for the country of Ukraine. Fuck Ukraine is flat out attacking that nation, and consequently, the people of that nation. You guys are arguing over nothing. Just change the damn signature and move on and quit the mental gymnastics.
#708 ArcticMoon
Khmmmm. No. Some governments have a clear political stance. These are governments, which bowed to the great ones over there on the top. Hungary is also Europe anyway, it's already a different topic that we don't really condescend to the kindergarden of sanctions, which don't make Russia weaker anyway.

Wow, tremendous behaviors of spoiled children. It's sad to see how this community is going even further into the depths of everything. go out into life a little, this is not doing you any good.

You are programmer. Right? So i think that you know tht servers for a big projects like Elten with forums, messages, audio conferences, blogs, generally big database Maria DB what ever isn't free?
Ye, maybe it's hobbyist project, but If there is no money for its maintenance it will not be possible to maintain it. This is logical, should be especially for you if you have worked on big projects.

Guy, pay more attention please. If you didn't noticed that i allready have changed my signature, why you even say that it annoys you or someone else?
And yes, I have changed it to something less offensive.
But it is funny that i allready have changed the signature but the bullshit still continues like i did not.

Anyone have beer or popcorn?

Banging from a wall, lalalalalaaaa. Again and again. I learned a long time ago that if no arguments work, better to laugh and give up in explaining anything.
#714 cyrmax
Yes i understand that.
But as i said much much earlier in another thread, pajper wants much much more money than the server costs.
I have a server with 32 gb ram, 4 tb hdd and 8 core cpu running at 3.5 ghz.
for this happiness i pay about 150 euro every month.
And if i want more features and more responsive user interface i dig deeper into sources and optimize everything i can instead of buying more and more powerful server and restricting users from some very very basic features just to get more and more money.

but he also has the right to earn money, there's a reason he stays 11 hours working, and sometimes without motivation, therefore whatever he decides to ask for is valid.
#716 daszekmdn
What's your server's location? Imagine that in any country prices can be different.
#717 pajper
How many services and users do you have? Because, sorry, but 32 GB RAM and 8 cores is pretty small for any big project.
BTW. 150 eur per month is 1800 eur per year, compared to around 3000 eur per year calculated for Elten.
Shoot for the Moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.
#718 cyrmax
It is located in France, near Paris.
And btw pajper told that his server is related to some kind of non-commercial foundation for blind people.
As i know almost in every country government in some form sponsors such project.
In Russia our project Tiflo Games received help from VK Cloud Solutions and now has a powerfull server for free.
So should we take money from users for every new game we publish?
Or for to use voice recognition bot in telegram chat?
Or for uploading games to our cloud?
maybe we should but we do not.

I don't know if Cyrmax has already written this down because I didn't follow along, but as far as I know he has 3 servers for the same price as the only one server of Elten. He was even a bit shocked when Pajper told him the price he pays monthly.

With a lot of people it doesn't work though. A serious adult is going to ask for arguments and not plain laughter from his opponent in such situations.
