A Discussion of Good Faith
Wróć do Threads Archive#1 Sir-Charlie
So before I get to the actual post I have to begin with a little preamble. I'm writing this message out of genuine confusion and concern, not because I'm being salty or whatever attacks you want to throw at me.
So if you want to understand and follow what exactly I'm talking about, you can look at the thread that's titled something to the effect of Strange admins behaviour, and you can take a quick skim through the elten we need more admins topic or something. Start from the post of gamer kid, read the next 20 posts or so and you should get the idea of what exactly I'm talking about.
So a topic was made discussing the recent decision to ban The Dominator sighting his age. A few people came forward, and a few started talking about general inconsistencies with the moderation duo. I came in, post 24 and asked why weren't the partisipants of the other topic banned, because frankly it seemed rather ridiculous to me how a group of people could throw around racist, homophobic and slurs that targets the autistic community, when there are numerous people on this very forum who falls into the afformentioned insult targets. Artic Moon came in post 27 and responded to me which was fine. I came back in post 30 to say I was glad they were thinking about it and reafirmed my disgust. Gamer Kid came in post 31, responded to me and I responded to him yet again in post 36, however after that point I took a leave of absence from the topic since I didn't want to derail it anymore. Now between post 37 and 109, some more drama unfolded regarding an impersonation of Matt Curtice. I came in again in post 109 and agreed with Marc and said they were too big for that nonsense. After that point I had 2 back and forth posts with Gamer Kid however I said clearly we've derailed the topic enough, and I didn't wish to derail it anymore.
After that point Arctic Moon came in post 115 and announced warnings to be handed out to gamer Kid, Marc, Rudolph and myself.
Now I'm completely baffled. Why is it Marc, Rudolph and myself were warned for off topic content? As I stated, I came in, discussed the topic at hand, took a leave of absence for a week or so and posted 3 messages in response to the latest messages. What was the justification for that warning? What do you determine to be off topic, and what is even the threshold for a warning? And equally as important, why was I warned and not post 64, 38, 32, 18 and others? Some of those posts were written by the very administrator who warned us for off topic? Why aren't the standards being applied equally here?
Another concern I'd like to raise is the lack of logging these moderation events. I remember the said administrator making a very big scene on audiogames.net when Daddy Jayde failed to provide the link. Mind you just the link to the thread, not logging the event itself. Again, why are the standards not equal here?
So ultimately I'm confused. What does the administrators of this forum see as breaking the threshold to give a warning? How many warnings does it take to ban someone? And why aren't the standards applied evenly? I'd like to have a genuine and open discussion about this.
Thanks.

Not sure how I would've said it myself, nicely done and brought to the point. Or another thing, ok. Old topic since he's away. Enes got like what, 4 5 warnings in the past? Nothing more. And funny is if those recent warnings are *official* why arn't they logged in the admin log. And what were we 3 warned for again? Now I'm not wanting to say things I don't have a clue of but I guess if arctics boyfriend would've said something in there he would've gotten away with no *official* warning. It's funny because I just wanted this to stop and not come to a disaster again like elten staf we need more. But I already got an undeserved warning for quote, spamming. But that's not the topic. In short, admin action is very questionable, from both nuno and arctic. Especially how nuno always since the past came online randomly or rather, showed up here, closed random topics he thought would need to be closed and woosh. He hasn't been seen for weeks if not months after. And then suddenly that circle goes on. I just don't get the sense of this entire administrative doing here either.

I'm on my way to contact Nuno and discuss if we should give out more bans due to this behavior. I don't like acting on my own, I'm just a moderator after all. I act if we all agree, and every active member of the team knows what is going to happen.
There's enough bullshit going on in the elten english community, sadly. This offtopic idiotism needs to stop as soon as possible. I have a feeling most of you are already doing it for fun, what isn't the behavior I'd expect from civilized people.
On the other hand, Enes, if I can say, fortunately left us. Therefore I don't see the point in banning him, even if I absolutely wished so, when he was still here. If he ever returns and starts to behave like he did earlier, of course he is going to get his punishment without hesitation.

A lot of these threads have been off topic lately. So, don't know what else to say.
#5 Sir-Charlie
I think in general it's idiotic and ridiculous to attempt policing "off topic" posts. Because here's the thing. What do you consider to be off topic? Clearly myself and Arctic have differing views on the matter. Surely there are some cases where it's abundantly clear that the person is going off topic, for example the 404 long topic, but in general it's only natural for conversation to develop and advance. Still, you haven't actually answered any of my questions.

I will repeat what I wrote earlier on this topic. I'm watching this from the outside, but I'm afraid the English community is sorely lacking in permanent administration, clear rules, and so on.
I have absolutely nothing against nuno69, but even he admits that he is less frequently online on Elten.
The moderator status is granted to the user who was last active here in October 2022.
From what I can see, forgive me if I'm missing something, the only person really active as a moderator is ArcticMoon.
So it seems to me that the work needs to start from the ground up and do a complete reform of this group, moderation, rules and everything else.
In Poland there is a popular children's rhyme about a little boy carrying a bag of sand. However, he does not realize that his bag has a hole. When he reaches his destination, it turns out that all the sand has spilled out.
It reminds me a lot of this situation. We focus on small problems, and in order to take care of them, we have to solve the big one.

Indeed. I've heard that saying.
#8 pajper
moderation, I've deleted 110 off-topic posts and banned onlyfansgirl45.
For the rest, it's up to the moderators of this group to decide.

#12 pajper
By the way, the IP address from which this account logged in coincides with the IP address of one of the users active in this thread. I will not touch the subject, but I informed nuno69 about this fact.

On this forum I created a new topic, "Let's shape future of this group". I'd like to summarize all discussions regarding english community there.

Some of the young ones should behave themselves on here. The use of language is rather shocking I'm sorry to say. That includes gamer person and some others. If you look at the previous thread. with all those posts. I think the whole group needs a bit of restructuring, and some cooling off.
Sorry for stating the obvious and going offtopic.

So are we just going to ignore Gamer Kid yet again? Full agreement with Jaidon on this one. Also some of you staff members are literally doing the exact same thing, so what we are doing is completely justified. If you do not want things like this to happen, you as staff members should set an example and not do likewise. And if I get warned for this, simply go to other topics and see what off-topic posts have been made by staff on here, the same staff that hand out warnings for off-topic conversations.
#19 GamerKid
i'm sorry, what'd i do now?
