Braille on Elton
Wróć do Questions and Answers.#1 JHRadio
I have Elton set to use NVDA, but when I have NVDA open, once I enter the elton window, my braille display doesn't work at all. This is the only window it doesn't work in. ANy ideas?
Thanks,
John

You must have the NVDA Adon for Elten *you write Elton, but its written Elten. And in the Elten Settings, you can change it with a tickbox after the NVDA or Sapi selection.

where do I get the add on? I thought Ihad I had it in the past.

If you start Elten, and you don't have it, it normaly should ask you if you want to download the adon.

*add on

ok. i'll have to start it with NVDA running then and not jAWS.

Ah so I figured it out. I have to have NVDA running first, then open Eltan. Once I did that, I got braille access. The add on didn't need to be reinstalled. I don't understand though how come it only works with NVDA for braille and is self voicing. Like you have to put JAWS in speech on demand mode to not hear two screne readers saying words as you type.

Thanks Jonny!

No problem.

Perhaps elten was only written for NVDA. I'm only guessing of course. I might be totally wrong on this.

You might be I have no clue man.

Yes, you can't use it with Jaws.
#13 JHRadio
It should be screne reader agnostic.
#14 bomberman29
it can be screenreader agnostic if they will add support for tolk.dll on windows
#15 bomberman29
elten is gonna be crossplatform so maybe somewhere in the fture

Yeah. But I wouldn't keep my hopes so up for several other platforms elten, not elton, is running on, or shall be. Idk why people still spell it elton.

I can't tell how its spelled. elton and elten and eltin and eltan sound exactly the same to me... lol
