Android, Commentary and Typing

I just started using my new Android device that I got for my birthday the other day. The device is running Android 10, and has the Commentary Screen Reader (CSR) installed.
One problem I've had with Android right from the start is typing. Just a single tap on the screen is all that is needed to type a character. This is a pain in the neck coming from iOS, since I'm so used to double-tap typing. My finger doesn't always hit my desired character dead on, so I wind up typing the wrong letter half the time.
Can you give me some tips to make my typing experience that little bit easier?
BSI is an option, however I've always struggled with the concept of a braille keyboard on a touchscreen device, even with iOS.

Hi. I used to be an android user, but have recently switched back th Ios. What android device do you have? If possible, se voice assistant. You can continue using the double tap method for typing.

hmm, probably you can change it in your google keyboard settings.

to chagne the typing mode go to talkback settings, advanced settings, typing prefference and yocan choos what you want

I'm using abk (advanced braille keyboardd), but if i want, i can use my braille display, but i don't like that touch typing either, it is a pain in the hand, really, because my hands were hurt when i did the touch typing when i setted up my motorola device. Maybe i held the device the wrong way? Who knows!
