Like most Romanians (I'm from Romania), that accent that Russians have when speaking English. There are a lot of people around here who, even though they don't speak Russian, have that accent in English. And no, I don't think that Romanian when spoken resembles the Russian accent.
It also depends on how talented you are when it comes to imitating stuff. If you are good at that, then my proposition would be to just listen to some native speakers speak, like on a podcast, radio station or video, and try to mimik that. Another question is, are you aiming at British or American?
Oh don't worry, russian is still better than this very custom hungarian something which I'm having, most of you probably have already heard me, and most ears hurt if I start speaking :D

In my view there is nothing wrong with forin accents. We all come from different countries after all so the accent would reflect that. If we all sounded american for example that would be boring.
Even if we all tried to sound american, native americans would immediately recognise where you come from. Same with british too.

True, this was just an example though. And when you listen to music, the stuff that is played on the radio, everyone sounds american or tries too. The point is, there is nothing wrong with variety.

Oh yes that's a great idea! I recomend an android app, it's created by the bbc. It's called bbc learning english, and you can find it easily in play store. This app has a lot of content, such as some lessons and interesting videos. they are divided into levels. Intermediate, upper intermediate and elementary, I think. It's a very interesting app.
No matter how much you try to sound or be someone else, the truth will always come out. Plus your accent is very sweet, but that's just my personal opinion.
well, i don't know why, but befor my accent wasn't so bad, like at all, maybe it was cause i was talking with much of american people, and yeah, but hmm, after some time, like six months, my english, and it's accent, was abandoned by my stupid brain. And i can't find any good ways to fix that, cause i'm lazy to learn english, lol, i even don't know how i've learned english, its started from translations of everything from english to russian, then i've tried to write, and then i've tried to talk with my friends who know english. Sadly, in our school we don't learning english, we have german lessons. and i'm too lazy human to learn and fix my language in the internet. yeah, i'm strange a bit, i know, lol.
ah! du sprichst deutsch! wow! and i think that many russian blinds don't know english. i don't like when people ask for russian user interface of some applications. when i send them games in english, they ask but can you send russian games? and i say: don't you understand english? why do you ask russian? english is very easy
Try and speak it often. Like others, going for an American or British accent isn't authentic. Native speakers can hear you and you may end up making a bigger joke than if you were to speak normally. Speak slower, but not ridiculously slow. Just in a way for people to understand you. Learn the pronunciation of letters and combined letters, and try and work from there.
All that I survey, I could easily destroy. From time to time, it is important to remind these small creatures of the true extent of my power.
So now replying to the topic itself, so the good thing is, there's a serbian guy, now my best friend. He came in my school in germany like, 2 and a half years ago. Without him, i might not be in any online game, i would've not speak the english i speak now. Even though my vocabulary isn't completely filled at all, and even if i still have slightly ishues listening to english movie's, i'm kinda proud of it though. And he sounded american for me the first time when i met him, still now he does, there might be a 1 % difference but i think it depends on the time you talk, how much you do, where you do, and how you do. Now since 3 months i live in norway. Since i can't speak the language there well, english gets me good along the way so far, at least i got lots of contact with students and teachers, and i think i also help the students along with their english i'd say, and it can just keep improving. But as long as i don't have strong german accent anymore, i also don't need to 100% sound american. I'd more like to have a even better vucabulary and then still improve it, although now i'm pritty satusfyed with it. Maybe there's also some spelling errors but hey. Time improves everything, at least in most cases
